William de Fiennes, maybe?)"
I'm not sure of the dates involved in all of this, but I believe we all are
in the same neighborhood. My notes include a Giles de Fynes/Fiennes, indeed
the younger brother of a William Fiennes; both were sons of Ingelram de
Fynes, Lord of Wendover.
I have it that Giles, knight, married Sibilla, daughter of William Filiol.
I have some very poor copies of pages appearing to be from Collins's
"Peerage of England;" and this Giles is dealt with on pp. 563-5, vol. VI.
He is said to be a knight who attended King Edward I in some Scottish
endeavor I cannot make out. It also appears from the nearly unreadable copy
pages that he and his brother William went to the Holy Land in 54 Henry
III.
Regarding children, I see no reference to daughters (including an Eleanor
who married a de Vernon), only a son John...from whom my descent continues.
